The speech therapist/parents can also hang up other objects that they think are suitable for the child's level: from light objects such as feathers and pompoms, which require very little exhalation force, to much heavier objects such as bird figures, pens, etc. Simply attach the end of the object to the string or tie it to the string and let the child try to make it swing by blowing on it. Game ideas:

‘Take a deep breath. With one breath, swing the biggest butterfly, then the smallest and finally the middle one’.
Light objects such as pompoms: ‘Try to hold the red pompom as high as possible with one breath’.
‘Now take a deep breath and hold the yellow pompom up for 3 seconds, then direct your exhale towards the blue pompom and hold it up for 2 seconds’.
‘Breathe in deeply. Blow on the first butterfly and let it fly for 3 seconds, then hold your breath for 1 second and go to the second butterfly, then to the third butterfly. The aim is to inhale enough air so that all three butterflies fly one after the other.
